Amla candy or Indian gooseberry is probably the most healthiest candy. It is loaded with all the benefits of amlas. Amla is an amazing good source of vitamin C. Amla, no matter in what form it is consumed, always sums up a great source to our body. It helps improves the digestive system and strengthens our immunity.

Amla candy is an amazing dessert recipe that is loved by the kids. You might have purchased amla candy in the market, but we will tell you how to make it at your own home and you will never need to buy it again.

The kid friendly Indian candy is high on vitamins and minerals, so it is probably the only candy with loads of goodness. Made with easy boiling of amla, this recipe won’t take much time to make if ingredients are ready.

Suggestions

  • If you want to have sweet and sour candy then add black salt, black pepper powder, mango powder and powdered sugar into it. Mix everything really well.
  • Concentrate the sugar syrup and make gooseberry honey of it. For this, place it on flame and let it simmer until it turns into honey texture. Store it in an air-tight container. Mix this honey in water and consume it daily. It is very beneficial for health. It tastes almost like amla murabba or amla chutney.

Amla Candy Recipe – How to make Amla/Gooseberry candy

Ingredients

  • 1 Kg Amla / Gooseberry
  • 700 grams Sugar

For Chatpata Candy

  • 1/2 tsp Black Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin Powder roasted
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Wash and dry gooseberry with kitchen towel.

  • Boil enough water in a vessel, add gooseberry, boil for 2 minutes and drain excess water.

  • Separate its edges and place them in a bowl.

  • Add the sugar into the gooseberries. Cover the bowl and keep it aside as it is for 2 days.

  • After 2 days, strain out the gooseberries through a sieve. Spread them on a plate or a polythene sheet. Place it under the sun for 3 days so that it gets dried completely.

  • When all the moisture dry from amla and it is no longer sticky from outside then its done.No need to make amla dry and hard ,it should be dry from outside but remain soft from inside.

For Sweet Amla Candy

  • Add powdered sugar in the dries gooseberries candy. Mix it really well. Transfer it to a bowl. Amla candy is now ready.

For Chatpata / spicy Candy

  • If you want to make spicy amla then add all the spices along and mix well.

  • Consume 5-6 delicious and nutritious gooseberry candy as it is daily. Give it to your kids as well. Store them in an air-tight container. Enjoy!

You can add a pinch of saffron and cardamom powder in the sugar syrup if you are  making sweet candy
